STEADFAST ATHLETE PRIYANKA MOHITE MAKES THE COUNTRY PROUD, BECOMES FIRST INDIAN WOMAN TO SCALE 5 PEAKS ABOVE 8,000 M

Steadfast Athlete Priyanka Mohite has yet again made the nation proud by becoming the first Indian woman to climb five peaks above 8,000 m. The 30-year-old achieved the feat on the 5th of May after she ascended the third highest peak in the world, Mount Kanchenjunga, which is 8586 m above sea level.

Apart from her grit and determination, Priyanka said she relied on Steadfast Nutrition’s supplements Power Active and Peanut Butter to keep her going in the last leg of her Mt Kanchenjunga climb.

“A major part of fitness is nutrition. I was looking for a nutrition partner. Steadfast Nutrition products helped me above 6300 m. I knew that I wasn’t going to get good food up the altitude, so I carried multiple sachets of Steadfast Peanut Butter and Power Active. The products were really easy to carry and helped me a lot. Peanut Butter provided me with my daily protein content, and Power Active helped me recover fast after trekking for long hours. It’s very light to carry and ideal for high altitude camps,” Priyanka said.

The victory came as a part of Priyanka’s overall ambition, which is to scale all the 14 mountains in the world that are over 8000 m (26,247 ft) above sea level, popularly known as the ‘eight-thousanders’. The Steadfast Athlete is truly on a mission and has even climbed the highest peak in the world, Mount Everest (8848 m), in 2013. She has also ascended Mount Lhotse (8516 m) and Mount Makalu (8485 m). The 30-year-old also holds the title of being the first Indian woman to climb Mt Annapurna, which is 8091 m above sea level and the world's tenth highest mountain peak.

While trying to compare the quality experience of climbing Mount Everest with her latest victory, the Steadfast Athlete said, "The Everest and Kanchenjunga are completely different. Kanchenjunga is one of the  deadliest mountains; it has a death rate of over 29%. Climbers require great strength and endurance to keep going.

Mount Kanchenjunga is one place where the fatality rates have not declined despite advances in mountaineering techniques and gear. Priyanka took ten more hours to reach the top of the mountain in comparison to what she took for the Everest. Even during her preparations, the Steadfast Athlete had a clear idea of how dangerous the 3rd highest peak could be. She was on a really strict diet and was heavily reliant on Steadfast Nutrition products.

Priyanka Mohite is one of Steadfast’s most dedicated and hard-working athletes. She is the recipient of the Tenzing Norgay Adventure Award 2020. Even now, when the country is busy celebrating the magnificent feat achieved by the Iron Lady, she is busy planning for her further expeditions to Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, and Shishapangma.

Few people are aware that in addition to being a champion mountain climber, Priyanka Mohite is a Senior Research Associate in origin discovery technology. She is somebody who has worked with the frontline workers to save lives during the pandemic. As a participant, Priyanka is acutely aware of the contributions and sacrifices made by frontline workers, which may be why she chose to name this victory after them.

Commenting on Priyanka’s tremendous feat, Steadfast Nutrition Founder  Mr Aman Puri, said, "It is really difficult for me to put my emotions into words. My heart is all swelled up with pride. Our athlete Priyanka didn’t just become the first daughter in the country to climb 5 mountain peaks above 8000 m, but she has also contributed heavily to saving lives during the pandemic. Steadfast Nutrition is proud to fuel this champion. We wish her all the best for her future endeavours."
