Steadfast Nutrition collaborated with Cyclegarh for the seventh edition of the hotly-anticipated "Carrera De Ciclista" event, which kicked off in Chandigarh on September 12.
Steadfast Nutrition was the life and soul of the event, held every six months to promote cycling as a professional sport.
Season 7 saw unprecedented participation by cyclists, including innumerable athletes from Chandigarh and even national-level cyclists. The Steadfast Nutrition team was hugely popular with the athletes. Two days ahead of the event, Team Steadfast participated in a bib distribution exercise, where they distributed sachets of Snergy, an energy drink, among the participants, demonstrating Steadfast’s commitment to health and fitness. The team also emphasised the health benefits of Snergy to the athletes.
The incessant rain on the day of the event did not dampen the spirits of the athletes, who assembled at the starting point, the Nada Sahib Gurdwara, at 5 am. There were four categories in this year's Carrera De Ciclista: hybrid, MTB, road cycling, and individual time trial special, which was open only to men.
The ride flagged off at 5:30 am. Hybrid riders were the first to leave, followed by MTB and Road Cycling riders. Individual time trial riders had the lowest participation and were also the last to go. The cyclists were all brimming with confidence. Many athletes, who were dehydrated during the ride, opted to pause and rehydrate with Steadfast Snergy. The energy and satisfaction provided by the energy drink were incredible. The Steadfast Nutrition team gave a warm welcome to the cyclists at the final destination, a gurudwara. The bikers' speed was astounding; they completed the 30-kilometre excursion in no time. Breakfast at the Welcome Heritage was the next stop.
The high point of the event was the medal ceremony. The athletes' dedication was lauded by one and all. Next up was a discussion on nutrition by Steadfast Nutrition. Cyclists were apprised of their nutritional requirements and informed about the role of supplements in helping them improve their performance.
Steadfast Nutrition then presented the winners with gift hampers, which included its products, Power Active, Peanut Butter, Carborance, and a wall clock. A special accomplishment award for competitors who performed extraordinarily well but could not make it to the podium ended the programme on a high note.
