When you visit a supermarket there are high chances of finding products labelled organic. But have you ever given a thought to how different it is from the rest of produce? As the term states, it depicts the process of how it is grown and processed. 
The farming practices involved in should have the following:

  • Provide safe, healthy livestock habitats
  • Enable natural livestock behaviour
  • Initiate a self-sustaining cycle of resources on a farm
There are no fertilizers or pesticides used in the processing of organic food items like conventional foods. It involves no synthetic material or genetically modified crops. As it is grown through the authentic way of farming, it needs more patience with hard labour that spikes up the cost of organic farming. It is healthier for both humans and the environment as it doesn’t exploit the natural habitat and grows the food with no harm to the soil. Organic farming helps improve soil quality with an added benefit of conserving the groundwater. It also reduces pollution making it better for the environment. The organically grown crops involve natural fertilizers like manure for an improved plant growth.

In organic farming, farmers rely on birds and insects to get rid of pests as natural pesticides. Both sources are safe to consume but as we know how organic farming has no chemicals, therefore, a better option to rely on. It is debatable how could conventional farming be bad in the long run. Fruits and vegetables which are organic contain more of the antioxidant compounds connected to a healthy life and also a lower level of pesticides and toxic metals compared to conventional food.
Food is grown under the natural environment surely contains the best quality nutrition within and furnishes our body with the best. Organic plants produce more of their own protective compounds, namely antioxidants to protect themselves.

But it is important for us to know the difference between a marketing gimmick and original products. Not all products with names like organic cookies, chips, sodas and ice cream still processed foods high in calories, sugar, salt and added fats. Not eating junk and having a good healthy meal is important. 

You should be the one to choose the best for you, as we know fresh food when cooked feels and furnishes with the best. It is important for one to enjoy the freshness of food.
